These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Axel mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the App

Axel provides AI-generated vehicle health insights, service log tracking, maintenance forecasting, and cost analysis based on vehicle information and logs entered by users. The App helps users organize vehicle records, understand maintenance schedules, and view general vehicle health trends.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App and capable of forming a binding contract. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Subscriptions & Purchases

Some features (such as Axel Pro) require a paid subscription. If you purchase a subscription:

  • Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Renewal Costs: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • Management: You can manage or turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID Account Settings at any time after purchase.
  • Free Trials: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

4. AI-Generated Content

The App uses third-party AI models to parse service logs, decode VIN data, and generate mechanical advice. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content (including maintenance forecasts and diagnostic suggestions) may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unrelated to your specific vehicle model.
  • Outputs are based solely on user-provided data and general automotive knowledge.
  • You should not rely on AI responses as a substitute for professional mechanical diagnosis.

5. Automotive & Safety Disclaimer

Axel does not provide professional mechanical, engineering, or safety advice.

  • Not a Mechanic: The App is not a certified mechanic or automotive repair service.
  • No Guarantee: It does not guarantee vehicle safety, roadworthiness, or that a specific repair will fix an issue.
  • Estimates Only: Calculations, "Health Scores," and maintenance forecasts are estimates for informational purposes only.
  • Safety Critical: Never ignore warning lights or safety concerns based on the App’s advice. Always consult a qualified technician for repairs involving brakes, tires, suspension, engine, or safety systems.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful activities.
  • Input false vehicle data that misrepresents a vehicle’s history (e.g., odometer fraud).
  • Use the App while driving or operating a vehicle (distracted driving).
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the App or interfere with the App’s security.

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to data processing as described therein.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and software in the App are owned by or licensed to Axel. You may not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the App without permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms, if the App is discontinued, or if required by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Axel is not liable for:

  • Vehicle Damage: Any mechanical failure, voided warranties, or damage to your vehicle resulting from reliance on the App.
  • Safety Incidents: Bodily injury or accidents related to vehicle malfunctions or distracted driving.
  • Data Accuracy: Financial losses or resale value disputes resulting from inaccurate service logs or AI estimates.

Use of the App is at your own risk. This agreement incorporates Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
